Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP)

SNAP benefits provide money to help with food, as well as seeds and starter plants that help grow fruits and vegetables. In addition, many area farmers markets provide additional Fresh Bucks to purchase fruits and vegetables when you use your SNAP benefits to shop there. Women, Infants and Children (WIC) Nutrition Program

WIC is another program that can help. For qualifying pregnant women, new mothers, infants and young children, WIC provides foods that include soy-based beverages, tofu, fresh fruits and vegetables, baby foods, whole wheat bread, other whole-grain options, lower-fat milk and cheese choices, dried and canned beans/peas, and canned fish and much more.
